Isn't she working now--on Cedar Cove?
Just some food for thought,
Peace, Y'all!
Loralee :)
her 15 mins is up, kinda overrated, imo.
shareActing is probably THE most ageist profession in the world, even more sore than modelling and porn. Every single casting decision starts with "Is he/she the right age", and an actor's age affects the number of roles available to them, so much so that most actors have to leave the profession some time in their 30s or 40s, because there are fewer and fewer roles available, and those roles go to people who are established. And that process is far worse for women than men, there are *very* few roles available to women over forty, or over sixty, and someone like Andie McDowell has to compete with far more talented actresses like Tilda Swinton and Emma Thompson for every damn role.
So yes, every actor has the right to complain about ageism. But that doesn't mean I'm interested in listening them complain...
Many older actresses do not want to play matrony roles like a wise granny or aunt. But the film industry does need to work on respect, and not discard them.
