She turned down both Independence Day (1996) and Men in Black

"Revealed in an interview with movie magazine "Empire" in 1998 that she is not very good at judging the scripts that are offered to her. She turned down both Independence Day (1996) and Men in Black: hombres de negro (1997), thinking "What is this *beep* while reading the screenplays."

Oh no!!!!

Yes, clarifying my point, had Natasha Henstridge been still an unknown, wannabee Hollywood starlet, an offer to participate in MEN IN BLACK and INDEPENDANCE DAY would have been Christmas gifts to her. Plus she would have needed the money. Natasha H. would have leaped at those movies. But real history was otherwise. She became famous because of Species. Movie offers were flying her way fast and furious. She enjoyed the new reality of accepting and turning down offers. In some sense I can't blame her. Feast or famine. When now you have so many choices, you can't take all so you have to turn down some. The risk is turning down the wrong ones and accepting others that don't pan out.
