I first thought Meryl Streeps daughter. It's kind of hard to see the resemblance as her mother is 42 years older. I never would have guessed that Peter Parker's grandmother was Ehle's mother!

You have to see her in Pride and Prejudice. She's EXACTLY like Meryl Streep in that one ... including her expressions!

I agree that it's much more her mannerisms than anthing else. I never mistook her for Meryl Streep when watching Pride and Prejudice, but was struck immediately by how closely her mannerisms resembled Meryl Streep. I am not sure whether it is intentional or not, but leaning now toward intentional imitation, after watching her acceptance speech for P&P at the BAFTA awards, in which she accepted the award with an absolutely British accent; and then the Tony awards in which she accepted with an American accent. I can only conclude that she is gifted in the art of mimicry and that she somehow channeled Meryl Streep during a lot of her performances.
