Upcoming Projects (News, Rumors, Speculation, Hopes and Dreams)

looks like the previous thread of this kind got deleted so i decided to make a new one.

in any case, it's been around two months since hostiles wrapped filming and no new projects for bale have been announced. here's hoping he doesn't take another longer break and that something surfaces sooner rather than later. maybe something with a spring start date.

here are some films i'm hoping against hope to see bale cast in:

triple frontier - jc chandor
a crime thriller set in the notorious border zone in south america. been waiting for this ever since kathryn bigelow was set to direct. back then apparently bale along with many other actors were approached about the film but it got delayed and bigelow eventually moved on to other things but chandor is a great replacement.

ad astra - james gray
scifi. astornauts are tasked to retrieve one of their own - who's suffered a mental breakdown in space - back to earth. this is another one thats been stuck in development for a few years now. it's also probably the most expensive project that gray has made so he would benefit from having a well known actor like bale on board.

black money - coen brothers
crime. private eye lew archer investigates a woman's disappearance and uncovers a conspiracy involving an old suicide and a ton of gambling debts. coens directing and bale playing a private investigator in a period piece. what's not to like?

strangers - david fincher
a remake of strangers on a train. i'm not big on remaking classics nor the acting of ben affleck (who's set to play the other lead character) but david fincher's been on a roll with his latest films. before fincher left the steve jobs film he wanted bale to play the title character so hopefully they can team up on this one instead.

I don't recall Bale saying that at all but I wouldn't be surprised if Bale doesn't work with Fincher even though Fincher makes great movies
