You get what you pay for usually. He used his wealth and status to marry a young woman for her body and she married him for his wealth and status. Neither married 100% for love. If someone loves you, they will stay by your side forever. If they marry for wealth and the wealth goes away, they aren't sticking around. He's still wealthy and still has status so I don't see her going anywhere. If she was horribly disfigured or in a wheelchair, she'd be replaced. That's the deal she signed up for.
You couldn't pay me enough to be in that kind of arrangement. I'll pass on the millions and happily take a guy with empty pockets for love. I feel deeply sad for anyone who would marry under those conditions. Life is so short. Too short to live without real love.
Actually, Bruce Willis was a handsome and rather charming man in his 50's when she married him. Even without his money and fame he could have married a younger desirable woman. He was not exactly a decrepit old quasimodo when he was in his 50's. It's not like he was desperate.
There's a lot of silly presumption and kneejerk ageism on this thread.
Maybe she did bargain for a decrepit old guy with money, i.e. he will reach old age fairly soon and have health problems.

It's fairly common with the wealthy and famous men.
Not all that common with average, middle class or working class types.
I think SOME women might be attracted to the wealth and fame, or the lifestyle that goes with it anyway.
