2017 - Pfeiffer comeback year

So IMDb are now listing all her projects for 2017 release. I'm guessing Wizard of Lies will be 1st in early 2017 and hopefully BULS will make its debut at Sundance with a release towards the end of the year and Aronofsky's project was rumoured for a Dec release.

Which project are people most excited about? I'd say at this point Aronofsky's project just with all the talent behind it and the secrecy surrounding it but I hope BULS surprises people and gets a good distributor behind it.

Sundance announces the lineup in December. Not too much longer.

I just hope her role in the Aronofsky film isn't tiny, like Ryder in Black Swan. And if it turns out she doesn't have any scenes with Lawrence, I'll laugh and cry at the same time, lol.

She's billed second just after Lawrence. She was in Vancouver for three months so her role must be quite big.

reply

She won't be billed second, though. Bardem will be, as he is the co-lead.

Anyway, all three sound exciting, and once again Pfeiffer can showcase her range and her dramatic chops. Very exciting.

reply

All of them. They are all different and sound exciting.

I don't think her role will be tiny in Aronofsky's movie. I'm hoping anyway seeing as she is the only other female cast member to be announced and the cast itself looks pretty small. I hope she will be 1 of the uninvited guests.

Considering the film was called "Mother" at one point, I don't see her role being tiny either. Besides, she doesn't really do tiny parts. Supporting, yes. But not tiny. She wouldn't leave the house unless she felt it was worth her while.

As for which I'm looking forward to more, it's so hard to say!!

Back in '07 between Hairspray, I could Never Be Your Woman and Stardust, it was easy cuz Stardust was one of my favorite novels

In '11/'12, between New Year's Eve, People Like Us and Dark Shadows, it was also easy cuz I was a fan of the original Dark Shadows movies

This time around, it's different...

I'm really excited to see her work under Barry Levinson's direction in The Wizard of Lies since he's made a lot of films I love (Rain Man, Toys, The Natural, Sphere, Avalon)...plus the role and the plot r so great, cuz the real-life case and woman were so fascinating to watch from a spectator standpoint...so I just cannot wait

I love aronofsky's boldness as a filmmaker and how he's able to create such one-of-a-kind universes to tell his stories in and how he's able to write such complex characters for his actors to play so I have nothing but good feelings bout this, even tho we know very little...

The only aspect of Beat-Up Little Seagull that gets me excited is the fact that it's the kind of role Michelle thrives at and I know she will turn in some great work. Beyond that, the director is too green n the plot details are too sparse for me to get THAT excited...

reply

I think she'd do a tiny/small part for a director like Aronofsky. And I don't think the "Mother' title was confirmed or not, but we'll see.

reply

Mayyyyyyybe...but I just don't see her traveling from Northern California to Montreal for a tiny part tho. Winona Ryder would. Michelle?? Not so sure...but I agree, we'll see...all we can do is wait n see as much as it kills us!! Lol

I would love if these films were spread out throughout the year...

My ideal timeline would be as follows:

March- The Wizard of Lies Premieres on HBO
June- The Wizard of Lies DVD/Blu-Ray Release
September- Beat-Up Little Seagull Release (Tho the later the better for awards consideration)
December- Aronofsky's Film Release

Incidentally, I like the ideal of Seagull going to Sundance, but I would love it if it came to SXSW, which is held every March here in Austin where I live. Every year I work with a PR firm from New York who handles a number of festival titles featuring notable actors and directors. Naturally, I would love to use my connection to see the film should it end up showing there, but more than that, a good amount of films that go to SXSW get noticed and distributed, and I would love for Beat-Up Little Seagull to have the same fate as a result.

All of it wishful thinking, I know...lol
