The only time it's arguably right to speculate on a person's physical appearance, is if you're genuinely worried that they're physically ill. All other times, it's no one's business how they look. Older women don't exist for our gratification (neither do younger women, but it's clearly older women who are the ones who are mostly being body-shamed).
She forgot to age with dignity, and continues to put herself on display. It isn't her place to say how the public consumes her after she's made herself a spectacle.
She's a human-being. The thought of consuming her, even in the figurative sense, strikes me as unseemly.
Yes, bad behaviour and offensive rhetoric merit criticism when one puts themself in the public eye, but I have less time for anyone who body-shames an individual, whatever their status, especially since a large portion of that body-shaming seems to be aimed at older women.
Don't be obtuse to facts. She's an entertainer, of course people consume what an entertainer makes available. She doesn't make music that people want, so instead of bowing out gracefully she continues to put herself on display. It's her choice. And your commemt about shaming older women isn't honest either. People generally only comment on plastic surgery nightmares like her that are so afraid of looking old, they'd rather look like a freak. Nobody says shit about Judi Dench.
It’s not ‘misogyny’. Simon Cowell recently became a meme because of his plastic surgery, as would any man or woman who botches their face by refusing to accept the natural aging process.
She seeks attention on social media by acting like a vacuous teenager. She can’t accept that she’s not a youth anymore and people are going to comment on it when she puts it on full display. She’s the ageist.
What would have been so terrible if she'd let the wrinkles and saggy jowls just happen? Like being one of the few people without ink on them, it would have been truly edgy. Sadly, she wants to be a perpetual teenager. Wouldn't it be great if women could just age like Jessica Tandy? She was beautiful, right to the end.
She's downright scary looking these days. If I saw her on the street, I would get cold chills and get as far away as I could. Everybody wants to slow down the aging process , but turning yourself into something out of a horror movie is a sure sign of mental decline.
