And did he really need that role? Could it have helped some other more struggling TV actors to potentially have landed the role?

Do film actors even think of the consequences of taking lower quality work from lower quality actors?

Ridiculous...not all films are superior to TV shows simply because they are films. There are millions of bad films, and plenty of good TV series.
