For me it's Misery, followed closely by The Stand.

Salem’s Lot. The book is creepy as shit because you don’t realize it’s about vampires until about halfway through, and that Hubert Marston invited Nosferatu to the town.

It. The thing about King is, in the case of "IT", if you were to take all the horror elements out of the story, you would still have a fine story of children coming-of-age.

Fair enough, although I feel King accomplished that part more succinctly in “The Body”
