New Line are going to make "The Long Walk" into a film. Long overdue imho as this story always would have made an excellent film.

Such a good story but I've always wondered how it would transfer to the big screen. Are they gonna "action it up"? and change the story?

Definitely should be easy to film, I'm just worried they're going to apply some standard Hollywood movie formula to it to make it more "exciting".
shareWell, I hope it's as gritty and real as it is in the written story. I also hope that there are NO break away scenes where they decide that they want to show The behind the scenes with the military.
If they stick with the walk and the boys, that is all that is needed.

you would think that someone would have made it years ago. I like to cast the characters while reading a book. I also read books to pieces, countless times. There have been so many cast changes over the years as the actors grew from boys and young men to old men! LOL!

I beg your pardon, but it is entirely likely that the story will indeed be corrupted to suit a political agenda currently popular among the Hollywood crowd and Stephen King himself. It is entirely likely that the story only got the green light based on this potential, and it is entirely relevant to discuss it here.
