My Dad died of cancer. It was absolutely horrible, and I still think about it every single day.
That doesn’t mean I demand jokes about cancer be banned. I don’t take a cancer joke as a personal insult towards my Dad, and I don’t throw a fit when I hear a cancer joke. It’s a goddamn joke. Jesus Christ people. 🤦🏻♂️
It also doesn’t mean I’m insensitive to the people who suffer with that illness, because I’ve seen it first hand. I can separate personal instances from an entirely separate general dark humor joke.
Do you see how this works? No? You still want anything you find to be insensitive banned and then demand apologies? Yeah, it’s 2022…I figured as much.
I’m sorry for your loss, but people are going make jokes about things you don’t like, probably for the rest of your life.

I agree 100% with you. Personally, I find I deal with tragedy better when I make twisted humor right in the face of it. It isn't because I'm uncaring, it's because people cope differently.
