In what context? Just acting? As a human being?
I think DiCaprio is a better human being, and I think he's better looking.
Bale has done a musical and while not the best singer, he did pull it off.
Both of them have danced and both have played psychos, but I think I'd give a slight edge to Bale in that department.
Both have won oscars, but Leo's was for Best Actor and Bale's was for Supporting Actor. Should that make a difference? I don't know. I'd probably give this one to Leo.
Over all, I'm going to give it to Bale, just because he's been in more movies that I like, but I don't know if he is a better actor.

That's pretty much my take also. I also think Bale just comes across as more macho, sort of like Sean Connery vs Roger Moore.
Better human being? Definitely not.
shareI only say that because as far as I know I've never heard DiCaprio getting arrested, even if it was just personal family matters, and he doesn't have a tape of him berating anyone on set. If so, then I will change my mind.
sharelol It's naive to base someone's entire personality off such isolated incidents. Leo is a pretentious douche on top of being a massive hypocrite; not to mention Bale seems like the friendlier and more approachable person of the two. He lost his cool one time on set, who cares. People have reportedly been fired just because Leo hates being looked in the eyes on set (he denies this, but the number of people who attest to it are plentiful.)
shareHe lost his cool on set, and had a feud with his family that was enough to have the cops called on him. That sounds like he has a bit of a temper to me. I don't know either one personally, and I do prefer Bale to DiCaprio, but I honestly don't think either one of them is a great human being. Bale may or may not be friendlier, but he does have an issue with his temper that I haven't heard about DiCaprio. One point for Bale is that he has been married for over 20 years, so that counts for something.
I get that you don't like Leo, so I'm not going to continue this any longer as there really is no point.
What's wrong with having a temper? As long as you aren't breaking anything or assaulting anybody...

shareDiCaprio is the bigger movie star, more natural charisma. It's hard to separate him from his superstardom. Bale is probably the more technically skilled actor

I must concur sir. Bale on a technical level seems to immerse himself in his roles akin to Daniel day lewis.
with Leo it is still always Leo. Which I do love clearly. but yes Bale overall seems more skilled
They are kind of same. Both good actors, both star in movies that are entertaining to watch
