Leonardo DiCaprio: An Okay Person or Douchebag?

I've been curious about him for a while. I admire his work as an actor and think he's extremely talented. But, I wonder sometimes about him in terms of his personality.

I did a similar topic on The Revenant board asking about how he treats the crew members in his films and the responses have indicated that he's very cordial. In fact, I've seen plenty of behind-the-scenes footage of his films including The Revenant, and he looks like he gets along with everyone. The reason I made that topic is because of a YouTube comment on an interview with Leo and Tom Hardy for The Revenant that rattled me. The person said that he has a friend that's a special effects artist and worked with Leo on some movie, and said that after each body casting, Leo would have his masseuse give him massage, he'd be on the phone, was kind of rude, and was spending millions on picking out paintings in one day. When I shared this on The Revenant board, people have told me that they wouldn't think too much of the comment. Plus, I haven't heard anything in the celebrity news concerning that. He seems like a professional when it comes onset behavior and such. Why would he do that knowing that producing movies and creating special effects cost a lot of money? Though, he may be a better actor than I thought and he hides it very well.

I also saw a couple of years old video on YouTube that lasted like 40 seconds of him and Tobey trying to get into some Las Vegas event and they almost couldn't until someone helped them. Yet it was said that they didn't acknowledge him afterwards.

I already know about him being a party animal and it doesn't bother me that much just as long as he's responsible and safe. What I want to know is is he courteous to people? There are videos of him signing autographs and kinda mingling with his fans, and seems grateful for them.

I've been searching on lots and lots of celebrities with diva like behavior and actors who are difficult to work with lists, and not once was he mentioned nor do I even remember him being brought up. Who knows? Still, I'm on the fence because I like him despite his flaws.

Thoughts?

About Leo The Douchebag (just remembered reading this funny article recently) 

[Kathy] Griffin recalled running into DiCaprio just moments before she went onstage at the DGAs, where she nagged him about using his phone as he obliviously passed her and Lily Tomlin.

"He was walking by on his phone, which I thought was very rude, to me, a living legend. And I said, 'Leo, don't be a D-bag, say hi to Lily Tomlin.'" she said. "And that finally got him off his phone, and he turned to me, and he goes, 'I am kind of a douchebag.' And I go, "Yes, yes. I'm telling you because I'm the only one in your life who cares enough to tell you.' "

"Just FYI, I've never met him. That was our first conversation," she added. "Then I went on stage, and I really, really – let's just say, had fun playing with him."

And while Griffin has had her fair share of backlash for going too far while making fun of A-listers, she didn't fear that was the case with DiCaprio. She praised him for keeping his sense of humor throughout the night.

"He put his chin on his hands, like, 'I can take it. I can take it. I've been in The Revenant. I've been eaten by a bear. I'm not afraid of you, redhead.' "
