imdb-05811 I am sorry to read about your experience with Christianity. I grew up in a family that believes in God and I consider myself a Christian to an extent but it does bother me when I notice how people are being treated by "Christians". Christianity is suppose to be about loving everyone, helping whoever needs help, taking care of people, being a friend that someone can turn to and not judge. I know it's hard to do and I even do it myself, we don't even realize when we judge people anymore, but I do try to avoid it.

Although I am a believer in God, I am also a gay rights supporter. Where I'm from, not a lot of people can say that, but I listened to these stories about how the LGBT community is being treated and that is no way ok. Not to mention it's pushing people away from Christianity which is the opposite of what the Bible tells us to do. I myself have had comments made towards me about being a believer in God and standing by gay rights and I'm trying to show the LGBT community that not all Christian's are that way and I try to show Christian's that it's not ok to be like that.

As for giving money to the church, I'm not sure what church you went to but the one's I've been to I don't think are like that. I am a member of Heartbeat Church which is more of a contemporary, non-denominational church and they understand if you can't offer anything. My church is more updated and we all basically wear blue jeans and t-shirts and have pop Christian music. We openly invite the LGBT community into our church and my pastor has told us before "Keep your nose below your eyes". Unlike some churches where there have been rude people, when I first came to my church on my own, quite a few people came over to me and was very welcoming.

But it worries me when I notice people overdoing it. These are the kinds of people on TV that claims they speak for "all true Christians" but really they don't. And someone who might have grown up in a different religion or no religion at all will look at that and say "Well, I don't want to be a part of that. Look how cruel they are." So please keep in mind that not all of us are like that and there are good Christian's and good churches that don't think about money or themselves.
