Has Mr. Cruise ever been in a "bad" movie?

I looked through his entire filmography and I can't find a single bad movie he's ever been in

Cocktail is pretty bad (I think it's literally the only film he's ever spoke badly of after release), but he's very good in it and that was nearly 30 years ago.

Mission Impossible 2 and a few mediocre ones like Oblivion.

But apart from that he should be very proud of his career.
I'd say his just under Leo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks and Denzel in terms of his filmography

MI2 wasnt his fault and Oblivion is a good Sci-Fi movie.

reply

MI2 was his fault. One of the executive producers, Terence Chang, wrote a memoir where he claimed that Tom took over the script, and would often direct himself.

why is mi2 considered bad?

reply

Less M:I, more Bond. Less suspense, more action.

reply

More action less thriller yea i get that.

I'd put the filmography of Cruise, Hanks, and Denzel all ahead of DiCaprio for the simple fact that they have far more movies that are both great and re-watchable, heck I'd put Russell Crowe ahead of Dicaprio as well, but that's just me.

I agree he's more rugged than Russell Crowe, he's a muscular giant.

He beat up Josh Hellman - with three other dudes no less!

And as a muscular giant, he would have killed in LA Confidential:
