Will he direct T7

He said he's writing a new terminator , but unless he directs its just not going to have much impact like Dark Fate didnt ..

Hopefully he'll direct inbetween Avatars 3&4. Doesn't have to be a huge action epic like T2, just a moderate budget Rrated scifi horror like T1, incorporating all the latest AI tech/themes/fears. Arnold in there somewhere (but only via 1984 deepfake, also possibly deaged MBiehn/RPatrick cameos), proper blue night wastelands future war scenes,

I don't know, but it seems unreal that this will actually be the seventh Terminator film!

reply

There are only two Terminator films.

reply

I know. I don't know what I was thinking.

reply

Quit gatekeeping. T3 and TS are good.

This does not compute. Wait, processing, it does compute.

I think he's planning to devote the next decade to those goofy "Avatar" films. And by the time those hit the point of diminishing returns, Arnold is going to be too old to play a robot, I mean who the hell would build a robot that looks like a 80-year-old man?

So I think not. Let the "Terminator" franchise die a natural death.

reply

Arnold himself says he's done with the franchise, but his 1984 CGI 'avatar' probably isn't

reply

I would love a T7 but shaped more like a horror movie with a platoon of terminators coming back to our time to build the most advanced quantum computer ever made with know how from the future that will control all 8 levels of the internet including all the worlds military facilities in order to destroy mankind.
Directed by an up and coming director with a budget of not more than $50M. No Arnold and no outrageous action sequence not unlike Fast franchise. Super dark and brutal.

reply

And without time travel and not called terminator 7.

reply

i agree that if they ever make T7, it needs to be smaller in scale and more like T1. They have tried again and again to remake T2 and it is now just pathetic. TS is one of the best films in the franchise by default because it's different.

reply

100% agree! Make it raw , barebones!

reply

Dark Fate shouldve been the return to the hard R horror roots of the franchise ,,and with the R rating and Camerons involvement it looked like it might be going to. but nope it was T2 again

reply

I really didn't understand Cameron's motive with T:DF. He bashed T3 onward for years saying they werent "real" sequels because he wasn't involved. Then he finally returns to the franchise and brags about bringing it back to its roots...only to remake T2 the same way T3 did? i honestly prefer T3 and TG to DF.

reply

he most likely had very little to do with DF beyond helping secure Linda Hamilton (i.e. phoning her up to personally ask her to come on board) and a couple of script suggestions (one of which seemed to be killing off John Conner Hicks/Newt style), basically little more than he did with Genisys (where he contributed to the story with the old Arnold model 101 and suggested the writers) its just in Gen he had no credit here they gave him a co writer/exec producer credits. he did near identical 'this is the real T3' promo interviews for both movies too. and later we found out he butted heads with Tim Miller over the editing of the movie and including certain scenes (the Deadpool director disagreeing with the frickin CREATOR of Terminator/writer director of T1/2!! can you imagine!😆 obviously should've gone with Camerons ideas!)

reply

This guy ain't taking a break from his billions dollar mega franchise to direct a cash grab sequel to a tired ass time traveling robot saga. But mustn't he have a trusted second or third unit director under his wing ready for their big break?

reply

i guess it was tim miller
