How is this guy meant to be funny?

He's the single most neurotic "comedian" I've ever seen, and I haven't even seen ANY of his movies, except for "Antz".

If you have only seen Antz then you are not worthy of an answer to a question that sounds like a fifth grader asked it to his teacher. Meant? to be funny? By whom? By what decree? A government? Stick to Antz! His films are for people who can articulate the language. You made a statement then made a fool out of yourself. Go to a forum about wrestlers who disguise themselves as actors , sounds more your speed.

Woody Allen is so stuck in his own formula, making movies like my grandmother does her crossword puzzle. They both don’t really need to, and it really isn’t a valuable endeavor, but they’ve been doing it for so long they might as well keep it up.

As a society, we need to get a couple things straight about the man:

Woody Allen doesn’t make good movies anymore.

Woody Allen doesn’t make bad movies anymore.

Woody Allen exclusively makes Woody Allen movies.

They all have the same stuck up male protagonist, the same quirky female love interest, the same older man/woman which interrupts the quirky young love. They are all shot well, will make you laugh 4–5 times, and are totally forgettable.

I disagree with that. I'm sure many others disagree with that as well.

How can somebody comment on something they admit they know absolutely nothing about?

reply

I've seen enough of his work to know that it definitely isn't the humor for me. Whining about peoples idiosyncrasies just doesn't do it for me. Plus he has a most punchable head.

This compulsory adulation that Hollyweird bestows on this glorified old pervert is definitely a mystery. Decades of producing crap that nobody watched or cared about since the 80s I guess is a great accomplishment.

You know there's more to him than 'movies'?
