What a great actor
I love every movie he's been in. He was great in Key Largo and Little Caesar.
shareI love every movie he's been in. He was great in Key Largo and Little Caesar.
shareHe was definitely one of the greats, he also was a great human being who was one of the first American movie stars to lash out against the Nazi's!
shareI agree. He was fantastic.
shareone of my favs.
shareBrilliant actor, I've not seen enough of his films but I'm slowly amending that, I loved him in Key Largo!
shareOne of the greatest.
shareSuperb as villain or as hardboiled good guy, and he had terrific comic timing to boot - one of the greats for sure.
shareHeck yeah----if you're seen Double Indemnity, Fred McMurray was the actual star, but Robinson's character, who's trying to solve the mystery, steals just about every scene he's in, and got a well-deserved nomination for it.
shareIf only! Robinson was indeed brilliant in that film but he was ignored. He's actually possibly the greatest actor never to have been nominated for an Oscar.
Back then the studio determined which category an actor was placed in, and Robinson would certainly have been placed as a lead despite having a supporting role. This placement (back then nominating a major star as supporting was unthinkable) probably cost him a nomination for his wonderful performance.
Robinson, Cagney and Bogart were like the Trinity.
