Greedy much? How many *beep* signed pictures did you want from her??

reply

I agree. Why did you bother her again? You already got three.

Actors are mere products of a good writer's imagination

reply

Becouase I wanted a mix of Pictures where she was Young but also old and I had so many great Pictures to choose from I couldnt decide so therefore I sent so many

got her too. two years ago. Sent two pics (1 color / 1 B/W) and got em signed back.
She's now with Jane Russell, Elizabeth Taylor, Olivia De Havilland, Doris Day, Gloria Stuart ("Titanic", "The Invisible Man"), and Joan Collins my most important LADY's autographs I have.

I found her very generous when I wrote her two twice (Yes, TWICE to the posters who think more than one photograph is being greedy).
She seemed especially pleased that I sent her a copy of her first book, BY MYSELF, and wrote a lengthy inscription in it.
Her idol was Bette Davis, another one who knew how to be kind to her fans.

Thanks for sharing these stories! I don't find it to be greedy at all and from what I understand the fans usually pay the return postage anyway so there's hardly any harm in it.
I love reading these posts and learning how gracious she was in returning autographed pictures. It appears she enjoyed doing it and if anyone else has stories like this please share. It's nice knowing there was this side to her.

Probably for selling on Ebay.

I also don't think its greedy.
Sure, some actors are VERY busy or don't like to give autographs which I do accept.
Some guys are REALLY cool.
Sometime I find more than only beautiful photo and can't make a decision which one I want sent.
I find it only greedy when people getting autographs and sell it on ebay then. But AS A TRUE FAN and collector I never sell my autographs. Specially not those "old/classic" actors.

Olivia De Havilland once signed a photo + and my Gone with the Wind DVD Cover. She's usually hard to get and donesn't sign it anymore but she signed it and wrote a wonderful letter.

Also I had a two time success with Luise Rainer in 2005 and 2011. First she signed my DVD Cover "The GREAT ZIEGFELD" and then in 2011 a portrait-picture which I sent to her.

The oldest living actress I personally met was last october in Los Angeles: Carla Laemmle at age of 103. She might be not really famous but she appeared at in 1925 in "Phantom of the Opera", and 1931 in "Dracula" (she had there the first speaking line in the movie and got some fame with that).

I Met also Joan Collins at the same event (see my profil pic). I let her sign several items (Dynasty DVD Cover, Cast photo, 1 single portrait + 2 Posters of her movies). Joan Collins incredible charming (even I was super-nervous) - i mean - she was Alexis Carrington Colby - :-D
