Do you have an idol????

ANyone that really inspired you in life?

SOmeone whose words and actions really meant something to you.

And, had a major impact on the way you live your own life.

Only one for me....

Bruce Lee

Any others????

reply

Maybe Harrison Ford, besides that I have always admired the professional career of John Williams.

reply

Interesting.

Thank you for the reply.

reply

You are welcome.

Growing up I don't think I ever thought of anybody in pop culture as being my idol, but in watching certain shows as an adult I can see how certain actresses impacted me.

As eye-roll inducing as I suspect this might be, Florence Henderson as Carol Brady most likely had the greatest impact on me growing up and I see some of her mothering style in my own. She was the mother everyone wanted and she was just a really good, positive person.

reply

Not at all, what a terrific choice.

Yes - Carol Brady exemplifies a wonderful mothering style.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

George Lucas. I consider him a mentor.

reply

Sounds good, thank you.

reply

No problem.

ANNA KENDRICK.

reply

HAHAHAHAAHAHHAH

Do you mean that?

If so , Im sorry I started laughing - I recall you had a crush on her so I'm not sure if she really is your idol.

reply

MOSTLY JOKING....ALTHOUGH...I DO KIND OF IDOLIZE HER...SO....50/50 MAYBE?😂

reply

Fair enough brother.

She sure is cute.

Thanks for the reply

I learned a long time ago never to put anyone famous on a pedestal. All you end up doing five minutes later is discovering something wrong with them, something you can't stand, and they get knocked off. Historical figures are to be admired, but never idolized, otherwise you end up knocking them off the pedestal too.

reply

OK. It's not so much putting anyone on a pedestal.

You may not even like the person. HOwever, hasn't anyone influenced you? Didn't anyone impact your life?

SO perhaps you don't have an idol, but maybe someone you admired, and made use (in your own life) of their actions.

Or maybe you never did, which is also fine.

In any event, thanks for the reply.

reply

I've admired some people, but not enough to emulate them in any way. What works for them would not work for me.

reply

Ok, sounds good.

I appreciate your replies.

reply

I do admire Abraham Lincoln and Queen Elizabeth I, but still...

reply

Billy Idol.
