Do you play Catan?

Settlers of Catan is a gateway game for people moving from totally random games like Monopoly to strategy games.

Highly recommended: Can't Stop.
Plays well with 4 or 3 players. It can be learned in minutes and how each player uses the results of dice results in endless repeat game play. Takes 20 to 40 minutes to play. Good quality used games can be purchased online through E-Bay and BoardGameGeek.

Formula Motor Racing. Can be learned in minutes and cars are moved on a small track based on cards played. Best with more players, up to 6. Takes 75 to 90 minutes with 6 players.

I have played Catan with my son, his wife and my husband. It's a good game but with my shorter attention span I do sometimes start to zone out during it.

I first discovered Catan in the PC version, where you can play it against computer players.
I liked it a lot, showed it to my wife and when she didn't like the PC version we got the board game.
Played that a few times but we weren't really excited about it, so we both returned to our PC and console games, where my wife has a permanently changing list of little games she plays on sites like bigfishgames while for me there's nothing that beats Zelda.

Yeah it is popular with my cousins friends in Serbia

I love Catan! My son's and I have been playing for years.

My sons gave me the card game version for Christmas.
