Caitlin Clark white privilege kills WNBA

Caitlin Clark has basically killed the WNBA, no one will watch it ever again. she was the only reason people started watching it last year .watch the drop in viewing now because she said she benefited from white privilege she's an embarrassment

reply

Uhm, who's watching it?

reply

Did she really say that?

If so, not too bright on her part.

reply

I like how people are pretending people are watching those ladies play and are interested in anything about that league.

I imagine more people are interested in bocce ball.

reply

Well, I can say I took a look last year.

One was curious about Caitlin. Such a buildup around her.

I quickly lost interest though.

What surprised me is she would make (if it's true) a white privilege comment. From what I saw of her last year, she seemed very classy. Plenty of grace, didn't look like the pressure was getting to her.

Anyway, as far as the WNBA - it appears to be thriving. I believe two new expansion teams are coming in - plus I believe (don't quote me) they received a healthy TV package.

So, some people must like it.

reply

She was getting bullied and cheap shotted all last year but never showed any signs of folding until now .she's allowed those things to break her it seems .now nobody's gonna watch anymore

reply

People only watched it because of Caitlin Clark and every time the Indiana fever were on Clark was always most trending topic on x.i only watched it to troll on x because the players in that league hate her

reply

Ok, I can't speak for the players in the WNBA.

I have to say though - if I was a player in the WNBA - I'd be happy as Hell Caitlin Clark came around.

Most people had absolutely no interest in the WNBA prior to her arrival.

Without question, she has attracted significant interest/attention to the league.

More interest/attention means more commercial opportunities, which means more money for the players.

What an absolute cowardly retard. Basketball is a majority black sport. I guess whites are somehow "privileged" if they excel in domains where they're the minority, majority, or anything in between.

Fact: whites are a global minority. They were just damn successful, and other races are riven by jealousy over it. Nobody reached down from the clouds and granted whites any "privilege".

reply

Guess you never heard of the Bible.

He likes some people more than others apparently.

reply

Heard of it. Fun little collection of fairytales.

reply

Clark allowed the dykes and thugs to break her and now all her fans are turning on her as they should she's a disgrace

reply

The only sport I watch is my local NBA team, and I'm so sick of it being soft, non-basketball, and the endless 3-pt shooting is such a turn-off, I end up zoning out.. It's just something for me to look forward to.

reply

NBA sucks basketball sucks now it was great in the ninties but now everyone shoots 3s and flops only sport I watch is NFL and college football

reply

Women play sports now? When did they start allowing that?

reply

I've been waiting for years for my white privilege card. Must have been lost in the mail.

reply

It’s your birth certificate. Don’t feel bad for not realising though, you only understand what it means if you don’t enjoy it.

reply

I just read what you are talking about.

Athletes, some of them anyway, ought to just keep their mouths shut. In a different day and age, what Caitlin said wouldn't mean a thing. But today, when everyone is so touchy.....

Probably best off not using the words black and white in the same paragraph. And of course you've got Megyn Kelley trying to capitalize on the moment.

I don't think Caitlin meant anything derogatory - her words, they just don't work in today's world. IOW - no matter how she tried to get her point across, someone out there would be offended and make a big deal of it.

Will viewing drop because of her comment? Eehh, maybe. However, I believe most will do what I did - had a curiosity, took a look, then quickly lost interest.

HER COMMENT......

I want to say I’ve earned everything, but as a white person, there is privilege. A lot of the players who have made this league what it is are Black women. The more we appreciate, highlight, and talk about that, the better. Brands and companies need to continue investing in those players who have made this league extraordinary. Elevating Black women is a beautiful thing, and I have to keep working to help change that.

SHE IS NOT WRONG...... OR OUT
OF LINE....I SEE A BUNCH OF WHINERS ON THIS THREAD THAT NEED TO GROW UP.
