Do you think it's a serious problem to watch a movie and root for the bad guy?

What does the gang think?

reply

Depends on how you look at it. [nm]

reply

It depends how stupid the protagonist is. Sometimes they just ask for it.

reply

Not at all.

reply

I was watching Schindler's List.

reply

Oy vey 😳

reply

I'm not proud that I sided with the Jews. It still bothers me.

reply

I don't recall any Jews killing any of your Nazi family members in the film. Could you remind me which scene that happens?

reply

It’s the big action sequence at the end when Adolf tells Schindler ‘I AM your father’ and Schindler is all ‘NOOOOOO!’ and jumps out the HVAC system.

Very rousing scene, how could you forget that?!

reply

Does he make out with his sister?

reply

OMG YES!
It was both sexy and super gross, what a movie!

reply

That explains it. I stopped watching the film once it turned colour at the end.

reply

Oh man, too bad! When Captain Quint turns to Chewie and says ‘I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.’

It’s such a famous line, how can you not watch that?!?

reply

When he wrote, "Sincerely, Schindler" at the end of the list, I thought the movie was over.

reply

I think it ended with the immortal line ‘As God is my witness I’ll never be hungry again’ but I could be mistaken.

reply

When the Jews fought back they were guilty of genocide for killing Germans. That would make the Jews the bad guys.

reply

Victim blaming isn't cool.

reply

You're head is pretty thick huh?

reply

People who think Jews were the aggressors in WWII: you and Hitler. Congrats, you're in elite company.

reply

How thick is your head?

reply

If Jews are guilty of genocide for killing Germans, where do you think the Germans fall in WWII?

reply

It depends on if the good guy characters are likable or not.

reply

Nope.

reply

Sometimes it is the only option, Alan Rickman saved Robin Hood Prince of Thieves for example.
