How did she like Poltergeist?

reply

She liked it; I showed her some Family Guy parody clips straight after, which she found hilarious.

reply

That's great! I should check out those Family Guys clips myself. Never knew about them. 🙂

Good choice I introduced my daughter to Poltergeist at around the same age. I suggest the whole Trilogy. Poltergeist 2 is just as good as 1 in my opinion, and Poltergeist 3, while not a great movie does a certain campyness to it, and it's Heather O Rourkes final performance.

Also I know you have a lot to get to, but I would suggest showing her Psycho at some point. Just for the fact that it's one of the most popular spoilers in movie history. She is probably young enough that she isn't aware of it yet. It's difficult to show it to any adult, because every one seems to be aware even if they haven't seen it.

reply

I AGREE ABOUT POLTERGEIST TWO AND THREE ENTIRELY.

reply

Yes, Psycho is definitely on the watch list.

reply

What are you doing to your child with all these horror films? lol

reply

Don’t worry, I aim to entertain, not mentally scar her, lol.

She finds it all hilarious and laughs at the absurdity of it all.

reply

Good Lord. I was at least two years older than your daughter and the clown scene scared the f out of me.

reply

She’s very ‘meh’ about the genre.

reply

I recall you telling me that in the last horror rec thread for her. This post was more about how much I was and still am affected by well done scares in film. :D

reply

Yes, she basically spends the whole time laughing at me getting caught by the jump scares, lol.

reply

Heh, we're just lucky we can get more "free cardio" out of horror scares most kids today dismiss as lame.

reply

I get caught every time.

reply

If you really wanna terrify her, show her Tottenham's trophy room.

reply

I’m not that cruel.

reply

ood one andaclassic, for sure
Did she enjoy it?

reply

She liked it; I showed her some Family Guy parody clips straight after, which she found hilarious.

reply

By the way, the short, chubby lady with the little girl voice? She was in a movie I loved while growing up called "Teen Witch." Maybe you could have your daughter watch that too, even though it's not really a horror flick.

reply

ZELDA RUBINSTEIN

reply

Unfortunately, our watch list is ever expanding.

reply

Don't worry, she has 90 years left to watch it ;) She has time.

reply

True, but then there’s always new stuff adding to the old stuff.

reply

ALI AND I ARE SO BEHIND DESPITE ALL THE STUFF WE HAVE WATCHED...THAT EVER EXPANDING WELL OF NEW STUFF IS HARD TO IGNORE.

reply

I’m just trying ‘the greatest hits’ method.

reply

ME TOO....ALI SAW NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 1 AND 3....FRIDAY THE 13TH 1 AND 6 AND SPACE.....HALLOWEEN 1 AND 3.....NO TIME TO WASTE ON INFERIOR TITLES.

reply

I know, but there's another reason to watch "Teen Witch" soon too. It's Halloween month ;)

reply

Have her watch CHILDS PLAY next Andy?? CHILDS PLAY!!! And then after that, for a Double Header, watch The DESCENT

reply

Child’s Play is near the top. Unfortunately, it’s not currently available on any of the streaming services that we have, but as soon as it is….

reply

Are you serious? Do you know how old that movie is and you can't stream this?? See?? This is why I'll never be into Streaming, not now, not ever and believe in Physical Media, ala, Blu Rays

reply

💯🚨

reply

Don’t worry, it’ll come up eventually.
