What is the longest amount of time you have gone without drinking?

A little backstory but I haven't had a drink since right around Christmas of last year 2023. I'm not speaking as if I was an alcoholic but thought I'd give it up for a while to see if it might help with some weight loss. I still have to really commit myself to eating better and lifting but I can't believe I've gone this long.

Well as we get into fall I always like some of the fall craft beers as they pair so well with watching horror movies. I'm talking about buying maybe a variety 6 pack of bottled beers from the liquor store. Should I feel guilty for wanting to indulge moderately?

With all that said how long have you gone without drinking and what was the reason behind giving it up?

If you've managed to make it this far without alcohol, I'd say keep going.

I agree.
It’s fattening, expensive and may lead to poor decisions.

Take it from me, if I’m not working I’m drinking.

Since I started drinking every day I went a week without.

I drank in college, and overseas when I'd travel (not as much) and the last time was when I had 2-3 beers about 8-9 years ago, and have no reason to drink. It's not something I miss or think about.

Last February I partook in the 1 month challenge and ended up doing close to three months without a single drop.

I started with "Dry January" and then decided I wanted to keep going.

I might have a drink every couple of years if it's a special occasion, but if I never have it again it wouldn't make a difference in my life.

I HAVE DRANK THREE TIMES IN THE LAST 20 YEARS...I GOT ILL LAST TWO TIMES...I SMOKE PLENTY OF WEED THOUGH.

not sure. A few months maybe. I never really made a conscious decision to avoid it.
