I gave it a long review

This movie was made for people like me. I love musicals. I don't have a problem with a broadway show made from a non musical movie, and then that show being made into a movie. Although I was too old to have grown up with the 2004 movie, I have seen it and liked it. I LOVED the Broadway show. I found it much funnier than the OG movie. I liked this movie a lot. I laughed several times, and for the most part I thought the singing was pretty good. I did seem a little over processed in the studio, but I'm used to that with a lot of musicals. I try really hard not to compare a movie to a stage show, but it is really hard not to when it's one I like so much.

Auli'i Cravalho was the standout for me as Janice. Which is no surprise as that role on the stage is such a powerhouse. I felt that both Damien, and Gretchen were shortchanged here. I also was a little disappointed in the dancing. I know that not everyone loves dance numbers in their musicals like I do, but I felt they could have done more. Again, comparing to the stage show, but the dance numbers in that were really awesome. Most of the dancing here seemed confined to smaller spaces, like hallways, and houses. Seeing wheels on the tables in the cafeteria, and then not having them use them was sad.

All this being said, I really, really enjoyed this. Was happy to see Lindsay Lohan pop up, and it will certainly make my rewatch list. I had a blast.
