A test for your brain type

Answer this without looking at anyone else's answer first. Put the first answer that pops into your head.

What is the opposite of water?

This (allegedly) shows if you have a more neuro-typical brain or not.

I have ADHD, and the answer I chose matches nero-divergents. I couldn't even think of another answer, and then when I heard it I felt stupid lol.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, just a difference in thought process.

Fire...wine... desert...

Are you only allowed one answer?

reply

Yes, just the first thing that pops into your head.

reply

To be honest, the first thing that popped into my head wasn't a specific answer, but the thought that such a question could inherently have more than one answer.

Is a philosophy corrupted brain one of the neurodivergent explanations?

reply

It didn't go that deep lol. I like the wine answer though 🍷

reply

Thanks, I could go for a glass myself.

Out of curiosity, what were the two answers listed?

reply

Ice and fire

reply

Interesting, I almost listed that as well but thought if that was the case, then steam/vapor should also be included and that would have made the notion of a single answer redundant.

When I majored in philosophy, the psychology/behavioral health students were right next to us but they always avoided asking us such questions. This exchange probably demonstrates why!

That was cool though and thanks for sharing.

reply

I thought earth.

I hope that means I'm adorable and fun to be with at parties.

reply

That was not one of the two answers, you must have a mix of the two 🤭.

Apparently, most normal people say Fire, but us oddities say Ice (which was my answer). Fire never occurred to me at all.

reply

Parkerbot's programming is stable and unstable at the same time.

reply

I've seen fire. And I've seen rain. I'm very well traveled.

reply

I walked out this morning and I wrote down this message.

I just can't remember who to send it to.

reply

sand?

I thought "fire" first - where's the link?

reply

not water

(just kidding, it was fire)

reply

FIRE CROSSED MY MIND...BUT ICE WAS MY FIRST THOUGHT.

reply

my first thought was dirt.

where are the "answers" and explanations?

reply

The answers in the video were ice or fire. It was something like 75% n.typical people said fire, and the others said ice.

It was only a youtube podcast discussing different thought processes between different groups of people. Not sure if there is an actual study on this.

I was just curious, as I said ice and my manager said fire, which fit the narrative.

reply

I thought of ice for a brief moment, and then I thought fire was the opposite of water.

I was formally diagnosed with ADHD many years ago, if that means anything.
