How come girls / women don't seem to be interested
... In gaming? I mean, generally speaking. Even at 40 I feel like this is something I will enjoy and be fascinated with forever!

Hell, the creator of friggin' Pac-Man, Toru Iwatani, is on the record saying his basic idea for that game was to make something that would appeal to male and female audiences alike... and I don't think I've ever come across a single female Pac-Man fan even though it has existed for two years longer than me.
A tomboy friend of mine hated all the variations of Pac Man, she always wanted to play shoot ‘em up games…
I always preferred Ms. Pac Man. The original just had the same screen over and over each round; Ms. Pac Man switched it up each stage. Also, the arcade I went to as a kid possessed a Ms Pac Man that had a ZOOM button that could be used to speed up the character, leaving Pinky and his punk-ass ghost friends in the dust….good times…
Galaga, Dig Dug and the Star Wars game were cool too….
The history of those sequel Pac-Man games is interesting. The Japanese company that created Pac-Man, Namco, sold the North American distribution rights to Midway. But then Midway created those sequels without Namco’s permission.
shareI did not know that and that is interesting. It makes sense now that I think back; the graphics and design improved over time and I just assumed it was due to technical advancement. So it was Midway that gave all the variations?: IIRC, there was a Jr. Pac Man, Professor Pac Man and others. But I thought Namco produced more versions of the game until the home console makers got hold…as you stated, interesting…

I just finished playing PAC-MAN and MS. PACMAN earlier.. I own a Video Arcade Machine with 3000 Games built in, all from the 80's and 90's right down to ASTEROIDS, ASTEROIDS DELUXE, JOUST, SEGA'S OUTRUN, GALAGA, GALAXIAN AND EVERY STREET FIGHTER & MORTAL KOMBAT Game you can think of, I own it

But damn that’d be nice for the game room….
It was well worth the $1200.00 I paid for it.. It's a warehouse with wall to wall arcade machines and pinball machines as well
shareThere was an old arcade game with old west shooting. At times, when you hit someone, the game voice would say, "LUCKY!"
Do you have that game and know its name? Only some arcade places had it.
I'd have to know the title of the game to use the search engine on the machine itself

shareNo, that's not it; the game was not an overhead view. I remember seeing a villain at a ground-level window in a western town. When I shot him, a voice would say, "LUCKY," which was funny. Most games made sounds but did not talk.
I looked at Gun.Smoke on YouTube and a few others, but I don't see it.
I liked MS. PACMAN, ASTEROIDS, GALAGA, GALAXIAN, Ms. Pac-Man and others. I think Dave and Busters tried to re-create the video game parlor experience.
