What is your favorite era of music?

For rock music I prefer the late 60's/early 70's

For pop music I prefer the late 70's to the mid 80's.

90s rock/alternative

Late 19th century, when orchestras grew to a hundred strong, Wagner invented the Leitmotif, and the Impressionist composers kept things from getting too heavy.

What a time to be a concert-goer that must have been...

I really dig madrigals, esp. Byrd, Weelkes and Gesualdo (he was like the Zappa of his time), mostly from the late 1500s to early 1600s.

Won't get too deep with art/classical music, other than to say though I might love the Baroque period best, as a Bach fanboi. I love pretty much all Mozart period, Beethoven's and Mahler's symphonies, and have a deep and personal affection for most of Stravinksky's output.

1920s: Louis, Naftule Brandwein

30s: Django, Benny, Robert Johnson, Bob Willis

tl;dr: Don't have one. As G&G said: great music was made in every year/era.

Don't let this post lead you to believe I wouldn't nerd out about all kinds of music up to about 2019. Still catching up.zzz
