I'll admit, I thought Chris Rock's joke went too far at first (making fun of a woman's appearance which is a sensitive topic for many.) However, I came upon the realization that the joke doesn't merit physical violence and that Will Smith embarrassed himself and his wife more than he did Chris Rock, who handled the situation with grace.
Fake incident to get more viewers. It was staged. Real slaps are not like that.

shareMy opinion hasn’t changed since it happened. The joke was soft, and wasn’t all that funny. It would’ve been forgotten 2 seconds after it left his mouth if they had not immortalized it with the slap.
I thought Jada looked bad for not being able to take a joke, and Will Smith just looked pathetic for initially laughing, and then attacking Chris when he seen his wife’s reaction. He should’ve told her to laugh it off, instead he showed everyone who controls the relationship
