The recent outrage over the first Jurassic Park film where Sam Neil is a lot older than Laura Dern took me by surprise. I thought Dern looked far older than her actual age and never thought about it. Not to mention her character would also have to be older than Dern's age given the time taken to achieve her level of qualifications.
shareExactly. Actors can have a character with a different age then they actually are. Also if it wasn’t a problem in 93 why is it now? I ignore most of these headlines.
I hated her character in The Last Jedi which I guess I shouldn’t blame her for.
I always loved her in Wild at Heart with Nic Cage but nothing after that.
She's just another one jumping on the Woke bandwagon. She didn't have any issues doing it at the time not that there were even romantic scenes between them anyway.
She always struck me as a bit of a "look at me" type, going for roles that she hoped would cause some kind of outcry or shock. Nicole Kidman is like that too. I never watched Last Jedi or most of the Star Wars films after the original ones.
You are lucky not to have seen any Disney Star Wars. Try to keep it that way.

Sacrilege I know, but Daniel Day-Lewis. He's not a bad actor and he seems a decent man, but I just don't enjoy any of his performances. Same as Natalie Portman, double sacrilege I guess.
