Would you feel burned if your workplace did not give you a card or gift on your last day?
Especially if you worked there for a long period of time?

shareNope.
shareNo.
I expect my pension, my life insurance and my TDA….all of which I am entitled to.
They can keep their gift cards.
Nope I wouldn't want a keep sake.
shareI worked at my previous job for 12 years, and did my damndest to be a no-show on my last day... I got myself pulled to work that shift the department where I was going to start a full-time job the next day!
I suppose it was a bad move, but seriously, I left that job because the stress level was literally destroying my physical health. There's been a 90% turnover there in the last two years, things were THAT bad.
Nope.

It's an interesting question. It goes to, what do employees really want, and how do they prioritize those wants? Working conditions? Salary? Benefits? Job satisfaction? Commute time?
I can't answer the question about a card/gift, as the longest I ever worked for one company was around seven years, and in that I case I quit, so I wasn't exactly expecting a card/gift.
It all depends on the circumstances.
Different people want different things.
