what novels do the brits read in school?

reply

Four I remember reading are:

Of Mice and Men
1984
Animal Farm
A Kestrel for a Knave

I only remember them because the teacher would show us the movie adaptions afterwards! 😁

reply

Yes to all of them. The only one that I didn't read for school was The Catcher in the Rye.

reply

I've read all of them except for The Old Man and the Sea.

It’s a very nice novella concerning a kind friendship between a very young boy and an old, unlucky fisherman who just won’t quit. I’ve read it 3 or 4 times, it’s quite inspiring and a quick read.
