Yes to all except maybe Tom Sawyer. I know the story of course (at least, some of it) but have no memory of having actually read the whole book.

reply

I've read...

To Kill a Mockingbird
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
The Great Gatsby

Those were required reading when I was in high school.

reply

The only ones I recall reading are Tom Sawyer and The Old Man and the Sea. I think both were assigned reading in school.

reply

Yes. Huck Finn was the true classic.

reply

I threw infinite jest down the garbage shoot when I got kicked out of my apartment for rent.

reply

I HAVE READ ALL FIVE...I HAVE READ MOCKINGBIRD,CATCHER AND GATSBY TWICE.

reply

i have never read catcher in the rye. i always associate it with the guy who killed john lennon.

reply

I THINK IF YOU DON'T READ IT IN YOUR YOUTH THAT YOU WOULD HATE IT...AS A NOW 40 YEAR OLD MAN...MY THOUGHTS ON CHARACTERS AND THE NOVEL OVERALL ARE VERY DIFFERENT.

reply

didnt read catcher and gatsby.
Question: are they worth reading?

reply

Yes.

The Old Man And The Sea is a personal favorite of mine.
I’ve read it three times.
I really enjoyed the tough old man that never quit.

To Kill A Mockingbird was terrific.
Great movie as well.

The Catcher In The Rye was a good story too.

Tom Sawyer was a simple adventure story, I preferred Huckleberry Finn.

I’ve never read The Great Gatsby.
