How much is a movie ticket around the world?

Just curious.

Here in Australia (AUD$):

$20 ($13.88) standard, $18 ($12.49) member, $50 ($34.70) for member family group of 4.

(I put USD in brackets. AUD converts to USD and EUR about the same at the moment.)

About $13 - $14 here per ticket in New York, IMAX/ 3D might be more expensive.

My daughter works at a movie theater so I get to see movies for free.🎥

Thanks for your replies, very interesting.

I was actually way off with the standard prices, things have changed a bit since I last saw them.

Updated Australian prices 2022:

Adult $23.00 (USD$15.90)

Child $16.50 (USD11.41)

Senior Citizen $15.00 (USD$10.37)

Concession $18.50 (USD$12.79) (people on welfare, disability, etc)

Student $18.50 (USD$12.79) (school students are issued student cards to access things at cheaper prices)

These are all reasons to build a home theater and put your money into a comfortable environment with sound superior to any commercial theater (I’ve spent 20 years designing custom home
theaters and know whereof of speak) with better food and libations and control over the program—not to mention a much better social environment than what you’ll get from the great unwashed in your downtown cineplex.
