But I can imagine how strange/traumatic that would be.
Its the most horrible way to end a life journey.
How has it affected your memories of them? Does it overwhelm everything that went before?
Yeah. I know of three guys from my high school who were murdered. They were all drug related.
But the worst one was when I discovered that not only had the sister of one of my best friends been murdered, her teenage daughter had also been raped and murdered along with her. It turned out to be a vicious ex-boyfriend. It was a death penalty case but he avoided that punishment by pleading guilty. He didn't serve much of his sentence though. He died in prison anyway, under mysterious circumstances, just months after being sentenced.
The news was naturally, profoundly sad, numbing and surreal and still is, when I think of it.
