Pork Chop Hill (1959) - a good Korean War movie even though some of the actors were too old.

I'm a big fan of Sam Neill, generally enjoy surreal horror, and the story here sounded promising. There were several truly intense moments, the atmosphere was effectively disturbing, and some of the visual effects were quite impressive.
Unfortunately, the film was brought down by poor writing--the plot was barely coherent and the dialogue was weak. An unfocused mishmash of symbolism and over-the-top acting did not help matters either.
Glad I watched it once, but not something I plan on revisiting. My rating is a 6/10.
I watched two movies at the urging of Mrs hownos:
Juno (2007) and Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
The Blair Witch Project (1999) - what was the big deal about this movie??
