What is the best Best Robot in Movies and TV ??

Up until yesterday I would have had to say Robby The Robot from "Forbidden Planet" or the Bubble-headed Booby from "Lost In Space", but yesterday I say the weird movie "Settlers".

I even liked the weirdo robot from "Interstellar", TARS, that was totally ridiculous.

"Settlers" had a robot in it named Steve. I think if you check this YouTube video maybe you'll agree - Steve blow the other robots away, and seems like he could be real pretty soon. I'm just bummed out that I cannot yet buy one or make one.

Please establish your assessment criteria.

Just my personal choice ... I respect anyone's "assessment criteria" for them.
Did you see the video? Very clever design ... I think NASA should consider this little guy.

reply

I mean best in terms of... likeability? Character? Technological advancements? Importance to storyline?

I liked Wall-E because he looked more real than the cartoony humans.

Yes ... OK.

I present to you Bruno Mattei’s masterpiece Robowar (1988). Reb Brown and a crack team of mercenaries take on the most lethal robot ever.

Holy Crow! That looks awesome, a total Predator rip-off😃

Gotta love Italian horror/action directors, they will steal anything that's not nailed down lol

Woah! 50000 post is right around the corner. Is it true you get raptured up once you reach that milestone, leaving all the rest of us to ride out the Apocalypse?

reply

Yes, it's very much like Logan's Run

When you hit 50,000 posts Jim invites you to a pizza party and afterward you get led into 'Carousel'

It's all very exciting

I like your picks, they're classics

Steve is very cool, the visual effects in the link are amazing
Unfortunately the reviews are pretty mixed, it has a 4.7/10 rating on IMDB...not that that always means something

I like the concept of the movie, I'd check it out👍

A few that spring to mind are:

Most of the robots from "The Black Hole"
The home invasion burglar spider robot from "The Expanse"
the T1000 from T2
Roy Batty
Kryten from Red Dwarf
Robocop

Silent Running Dewey, Huey and Louie.

I was thinking of Silent Running.

The robot from Lost In Space was cool but had mannerism and speech I didn't like. Also the robot from Interstellar was a conscious robot I didn't like. Too much lying. There wasn't many robots in films that were good.
