I've always loved music and until recently I was very picky about stereo equipment.
In my last two vehicles I left the stereo system alone. My new car may get some new speakers one day..... jury's still out on this one.
> Or your phone, you'll pay for the latest iPhone because you're an apple user, end of story.
The opposite here. I've got a cheap, clamshell style cell phone. Cost about $50. No fancy apps, just does phone calls and texts. I'm determined to postpone buying a smartphone as long as possible.
I will have to get one sooner or later. There are too many businesses which are requiring their customers to use apps in some way. This year the Cincinnati Reds have gone paperless. In past years you'd download your tickets, print them, and use that to get into a game. Now it's going to be done with smartphone apps. Well, I wasn't going to go to any games this year anyway -- they're requiring that spectators wear masks except when eating or drinking, and I don't want to wear a mask for three hours straight. But if I go next year I'll have to get a smartphone then.
No stupidphones for me, either. Those devices are intrusive, an invasion of privacy, and are causing increased indolence and the dumbing-down of our society. Any store that would try to force me to use one of their silly "apps" will lose my business.
There is no compromise on the death penalty. I won't say here what side I am on, only that this is a good example to use when somebody says there is always a compromise. Not on this issue.
