Movie Title Game: Before & After

Just like the Jeopardy category Before & After.

The answer is a combination of two movie titles.

First one...
Matthew McConaughey is a lawyer who teams up with Uma Thurman to exact vengeance.

BullSchmidt had our inaugural correct answer with...A Time to Kill Bill

Here's one with not two movies but three:

A pizza delivery girl at the end of her financial rope has to fight for her life - and her tips - when her last order of the night turns out to be a family of Satanists, in need of a virgin sacrifice, who left L.A. for a camping trip just before a nuclear bomb destroyed the city. As the city descends into chaos, the father must fight to keep his family and the girl alive as they go on a decade-long hunt for al-Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden after the September 2001 attacks

I've never met anyone else who's seen Alone in the Wilderness. One of my all time favorite docs. Proenneke is a fascinating fella.

reply

I tried to catch it every June on a local PBS station shown during their fund raising drive. Problem was they would show 20 minutes then have 30 minutes of fund raising pleas. I'm surprised those PBS hucksters didn't got my money as if I owned a copy I would watch it once a month.

reply

Our PBS station is the same way. Its quarterly pledge drives last about four months each.

reply

I enjoyed it so much I ordered the full DVD. Very glad he was inspired to film the cabin construction.

This is really difficult when IMDB doesn't give me the english titles.

A Little Lust for Frankenstein

reply

Correct! A Little Lust For Frankenstein ... that's a movie the ought to be made; I'm sure it would be hilarious. Party on, Frankie!

> This is really difficult when IMDB doesn't give me the english titles.

Really? Here are the two pages I used:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4536304/

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175621/

Both have the English titles when I look at them. I wonder what's going wrong for you. Maybe IMDB presents data differently to people in different places?

I searched titles on IMDB for "Frankenstein," found "Lust For Frankenstein," and decided to use that. Unfortunately, movies whose titles end in "lust" tend to be of the unknown porn variety, so when I saw IMDB had the "first film directed" as part of its description I left it in.

I'm not even trying to figure out some of these puzzles mentally but am jumping to IMDB and Google; I hope others are doing the same.

Comes up as the Italian title when I click the link. I always get the title in the language of the country the movie is from. I don't know if it's my settings or my geography.

reply

It might be the geography. I'm in Kentucky, in rural Appalachia. Maybe IMDB thinks we rednecks can't handle foreign names.

EDIT: It is the IMDB settings. I just changed mine and got the same result you did. I'll stay away from foreign films in the future.
