Favorite spring break themed movies?

I don't know if "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986) counts, but if so, then that.

How is Ferris Bueller a spring break movie when it takes place during a school day?

reply

Good point. But it could be considered an informal break of sorts...I dunno.

reply

And Ferris is in high school, not college.

There's the movie that inspired the whole "spring break in Florida" idea:
Where the Boys Are (1960) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_the_Boys_Are

I can't call it a "favorite" because I've never seen it, and was never interested in it because I can't identify with it. When I was in college I had to work. There was no such thing as "spring break."

Definitely a period piece. Worth a watch.

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)

Other than Where The Boys Are (1960) and (1984), I can’t think of another spring break movie. I prefer the 1960 version.

Spring Breakers

John Saxon fans might want to check out Nightmare Beach (1988). It’s alternative title is Welcome to Spring Break.

Max Dugan Returns

because when I was in high school in 1983 a friend and I tried to buy tickets to see Spring Break but the theater wouldn’t sell them to us since we were underage so we saw Max Dugan Returns instead. It turned out to be an enjoyable movie.
