I will neither confirm nor deny liking this song.

I posted this about four months ago. It's still fairly relevant:
Recently I've started listening to songs that were top 40 hits back in the 1960s and 1970s. A lot of these are the so-called "bubblegum" artists, which I had always dismissed as cranked-out commercialized drivel aimed at the lowest common denominator.
I remember hearing these songs while riding in the car with the AM radio and cheap speakers. Listening to them now in full stereo sound with a good set of earbuds has revealed how complex a lot of those tunes actually were. Lots of multitracking, and performances by studio musicians who were experts at their craft. It's a shame they were never credited.
My latest guilty pleasure is "Knock Three Times" by Tony Orlando & Dawn. Listen carefully and you will hear a Latin-flavored guitar and horn section on the left channel, and a string section and a rhythm section on the right. There's a driving (but not loud) drum beat and bouncy bass throughout, and background vocals done by what sounds like a fairly sizable group of voices. And they throw in one measure of 6/4 time during the chorus.
Way more complex than I had imagined. I have a lot more respect for these artists after hearing these songs as they were intended to be heard.

Still...You Turn Me On - Emerson, Lake & Palmer. A song I like but a few sappy lyrics merits its inclusion, including the cringe-worthy "Every day a little sadder...A little madder...Someone get me a ladder"

Doesn't that song also have a weird edit? Seems like one segue kind of jumps in quickly.
I really like ELP but with some reservations, and this song is pleasant enough but as a sort of follow-up to From The Beginning, it's not nearly as good.

Oh Mandy well
You came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away
Oh, Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today
Oh, Mandy!
