Lol, I get everything you are saying. A day at the beach is not the most convenient or comfortable experience. If you have little kids, multiply all those things by 10.

There are beaches and there are beaches. A nice pristine beach on an island resort with cabanas, chairs set up, water sports at your leisure is the height of luxury but not something I, for one, can do often, sometimes not for many years. Still, those were some of the best vacations I’ve ever had.

I don’t much enjoy slogging picnic and beach supplies to a local public beach. I did it for the kids for many years but it was exhausting. Now I like to go to a beach and walk along the tideline, spot marine life, hang out for an hour or so like that, then find a restaurant nearby and enjoy some fresh seafood while watching the sunset. That’s a nice summer Sunday for me.

I'm not a beach person either. I live in the middle of the US, but we do have beaches at many of our 11,842 lakes. I don't mind a walk along a beach, but I have no desire to spend an afternoon sitting on the beach. And the crowds! What is fun about sitting in the midst a huge number of people?? Even on a deserted beach, what's fun about just sitting there? Well, okay, maybe it's nice to read and enjoy the weather and being outdoors. I'll agree with that part.

I agree. I don't like hot, crowded, beaches with blazing sun. If I don't cover up or cover my entire self with sunblock, I leave those places with 2nd degree burns. No, really, I burn SO easily that the most badly burned areas can blister up, genuine 2nd degree burns!

The thing is, a lot of people enjoy sunbathing in a way I do not, they find the experience of exposing their skin to bright light physically pleasurable or stimulating. Well, it's like chocolate, I guess, some people like it, and some don't.

Allow me to share with you two true stories from the same day of me going to the beach. Riding on a Thai ferry to Koh Phi Phi Don, a woman sitting on the deck immediately in front of me wearing a bikini bottom was adjusting herself with her legs sorta open, when I noticed the edge of her bikini covering her crotch slightly lifted lol. I was sure glad to be wearing dark sunglasses. One thing was for certain lol, boy did she have a dark bush. I have a sneaking suspicion that may have been done with some intent on her part. Then when I arrived I asked a German woman who could speak english for some direction, while trying to have a serious talk, she took her bikini top off right in front of me. Boy did she have awesome hugs. And you say going to the beach isn't fun. That was one of the most amusing days of my life.😆

I believe it. A non-beach story from the USA ... A couple of years ago on Halloween I was sitting on my front porch handing out candy to the kiddies. A woman came up with two children, one in a baby stroller. I dispensed their candy. She turned to leave but first bent over the stroller, with her back to me. When she bent over it hiked up the back of her tee shirt, which was already rather short to begin with. Her pants were down too low on her hips. So when she bent over like that, she flashed me with at least six inches of butt crack, maybe four feet in front of me.

Then, when she had gone up the driveway and out on the street, she did the same thing again. Found an excuse to bend over the stroller right in front of some dad who was walking with his little girl. His stroll slammed to a halt for a couple of seconds. I broke out laughing. If I had been walking instead of sitting when she did it to me I probably would have done the same thing.

Some people just want to be noticed, I guess.

As for beaches ... boring.

OK, guess we won't be bumping into you at the beach anytime soon then, huh?
