The movie doesn't have much in common with the book other than the basic event of the bridge collapse. This is the event though that created the Men in Black mythology. Again, they were nothing like the Will Smith version. They were oddball guys who showed up with cars that looked fresh off the assembly line to question witnesses. They didn't appear to understand our customs, frequently sported weird earpieces, talked in strange syntax...
The book creeped me out.
