What is your favourite method act?

Good question, tough one...I appreciate an actor’s willingness to go there, but method acting kinda scares me....I suppose the intention for some actors is to get some type of visceral reaction from the audience....I’m not good with rankings, but a few come to mind:

DeNiro in Raging Bull and Taxi Driver
Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood and My Left Foot
I may never watch it again, but Bale in The Machinist, wow...
I cheated and saw Uncle Shogie said Kilmer in The Doors, I second that
Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker and Walk the Line
Theron in Monster
Monroe, method or just playing herself in Some Like it Hot?
Sean Penn, his stuff made more of an impact on me in the 80s (Bad Boys, Casualties of War, Colors, even Spicoli in Fast Times, haha)
Take your pick with Brando, I’ll go On the Waterfront
Pacino in Scarface

Probably missing some but those are some I think of immediately...

And I don’t know if it was method, but I thought Ben Foster WAS a violent tweaker shytbag in Alpha Dog
