StoneKeeper's Super Awesome Movie Guessing Game: I Recommend THIS Movie #1095 [Ocean Waves (1993) Winner: MonStar]
I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that connects your guess with the movie I have in mind.
Example of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, actor, writer in common, rating, number of votes, nominations. It can even be something like: both movies involve Cabbage Patch Kids. Also, you can use Metascore color or rating, Rotten Tomatoes score, any award wins or nominations in common, same number of words in the title, plot keywords.
- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints and 13 guesses, the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint.
- Maximum 2 guesses per player per hint.
- Can't edit a guess once posted. Delete ONLY

MonStar wins with Ocean Waves (1993), also known by its Japanese title Umi ga Kikoeru (I Can Hear the Sea). I discovered this movie quite by accident years and years ago when I was trying to buy a Korean movie on DVD but ended up with a bootleg DVD from Hong Kong containing this film. I watched it anyway, never having heard of it before, and I won't be exaggerating when I say I fell in love with it. It's hard to explain exactly why. It's not a plot-heavy movie, it's very much a character movie, about life as a teenager growing into adulthood and experiencing your first love. It feels so real that it fills me with nostalgia every time. It's one of the least-known Studio Ghibli movies, but I really can't recommend it highly enough. See it if you can.
