Both too many & not enough! :)
shareNot as many as I used to.
shareI have no idea, I've never counted. No where near 20,000, but maybe about 2000. I got rid of a lot the last time I moved, and if I move again I might bring it down to about 100.
shareAbout 35 I guess.
shareThat's an insane amount. I'd love to see your collection. Where do you store them?
I still have a few hundred dvd's/blurays, but for the the past 5 years I've been slowly selling them. I only want to keep the most important movies to me.
Just placed the order for my 131st film, once again from Amazon.
This time I purchased Cross Creek (1983) on DVD, which will be delivered tomorrow.
This purchase was paid for using some of the reward points I have been accumulating with my Chase/Amazon Visa card.
Looking forward to receiving the DVD as I've always liked this film about Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings and her time in rural Florida.
Mary Steenburgen was great. Rip Torn was great. Alfre Woodard was great. Hell, the whole damned cast was great.
Rip Torn and Alfre Woodard both received Academy Award Supporting Actor & Actress nominations respectively.
Why Mary Steenburgen wasn't nominated in the Leading Actress category is beyond me.
UPDATE: Make that 132 films, as I have added the film Genius (2016) to the above order.
Genius is about Maxwell Perkins (played by Colin Firth), book editor from Scribner's and his work with Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law),
F. Scott Fitzgerald (Guy Pierce), Ernest Hemingway (Dominic West) and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (not in this film).
I find it interesting that in a film about an American book editor and famous American authors, the only American actor is Laura Linney, who played Max Perkins' wife. All the rest are English, except for Nicole Kidman (an Australian), who played Thomas Wolfe's girlfriend,
Aline Bernstein.
Be that as it may, just like with Cross Creek, my Amazon points have paid for this DVD as well. It too, will be delivered tomorrow.
Oh yeah, in Cross Creek, Max Perkins was played by Malcolm McDowell (another Brit) in an uncredited role.
Apparently, Malcolm and Mary were husband and wife at the time the film was made.

That sounds great. Now I have to see this! Love the subject and the cast.
I got rid of my DVDs when I moved from one country to another, over 15 years ago... Got rid of VHS before that...
I have about 200 blu-rays, but half of those are downloaded to my plex server... I want to buy around 500 more (movies i want to own/see)... I should place an order while blu-rays still exist... Also, I can put them uncompressed on my Plex server and have the best of both worlds...
In terms of digital: I have about 95 movies bought on iTunes... Mostly bought on sale as a package, some digital downloads from my blu-ray codes and a few movies that I bought because they were no rentals available and the family wanted to watch them...
Physical media, maybe 5. Got rid of the rest years ago. They took up too much space and caused clutter.
I have probably 150 movies and seasons of TV shows I like a lot in digital format on a drive. Mostly I stream.
