So stupid

Does anyone really care about these award ceremonies anymore?

Greta Gerwig will not quit until she has got Saoirse Ronan an Oscar !

reply

That's what I want to know. I haven't watched an award show in decades and I don't know anyone (that I know of) who does. Not only is it a Hollywood circle jerk, but they were sooooooo boring.

reply

I love watching the Oscars.

reply

when I took acting lessons I got really into the awards but I got lazy and swore to never watch it again because of how long it is.

reply

I like hearing the results, but haven't watched any of them in years.

reply

I still watch for the major awards.

reply

I care! I care enough to tune in! If I happen to be home!

At least enough to check the results the next day, if I'm not.

reply

I watch a few of them. I lean towards The Independent Spirit Awards.

reply

It seems that with so many choices mired by controversy, there can be only one choice that will please everyone.

Let the Oscars be hosted by The Muppets.

reply

It's time to play the music
It's time to light the lights

reply

That would be interesting to watch.

reply

That is actually a great idea.

I'm serious! GREAT!!!

Big Bird

Billy Crystal was the best host.

reply

Absolutely. But he says no every year.

reply

They should pay him $50 million; he wouldn't say no to that.

reply

I'd love to see Crystal again!

reply

They don't want to spend the money on a host when they don't have to. Also, you can't tell me that they can't find anyone to host.

reply

It really isn't that hard to find a good or even moderately decent host who can either be funny or do some kind of musical performance: Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Dave Chappelle, Anna Kendrick, Terry Crews, Jack Black, Kate McKinnon, Judd Apatow, Kevin Smith, Martin Lawrence, Mike Myers, Kristen Wiig and Eddie Murphy. These were just from the top of my head.

reply

Great list!
The current plan sounds stupid

It’s sad but I’m not surprised since last year the ratings went a little up, not like in the good days but slightly rose so I can see they think it was because there wasn’t a host.

And like I said it’s sad I did like the idea of a host I’d actually like to see Robert Downey Jr hosting something gives me the vibes he could be a great choice but it’s fine without a host as well

reply

Last year was great because QUEEN opened! They should open it every year. 😊

Who needs a host?

reply

They should just go all in and hire Ricky Gervais :D

No one in the movie industry can pass its own wokeness purity test.
