I Dream of Jeannie versus Bewitched
I was more of a Bewitched fan myself. Elizabeth Montgomery had more devil in her than Barbara Eden.

Anyone remember a show called Nanny and The Professor? Did that have a magic element to the story? I recall that it hi ted at magic but I can’t recall if the nanny did any extraordinarily supernatural things.
shareIt's been a very long time since I've watched Nanny and The Professor but if I remember correctly Nanny had mild supernatural powers. She could do things like read minds and make happy coincidences happen. She had nowhere near the same magical powers that Samantha or Jeannie had.
shareWonder what the thought process was behind that? Let’s have a show with a magical nanny but tone down the magic part, a lot.
shareI remember Nanny and the Professor.
shareYes, I remember it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9NX9a9GUzA
shareBewitched easy win.
shareI dream of Jeannie, I like bewitched as well but sometimes the mother in law vs son in law thing got old as well as Derwood marrying a witch and then being upset because he couldn't handle it, plus she went back on her promises.
Jeannie was just about the fun and Nelson trying to be strict with her but never really having the heart for it.
IDOJ hands down because Major Nelson was likeable while Derwood was Derwood. Plus, astronaut was the most glamorous job in the world in the sixties.
shareDerwood was a drag. I always remember thinking when I was a kid watching the re-runs what his problem was. If it were me I would have quite happily let her use her magic to make our lives more comfortable.
IDOJ was a copy of Bewitched but IDOJ was just more fun. Astronauts were the coolest back then I agree, anything aviation related really.
Bewitched for me. For mostly the same reasons as the OP. The witches in it had more fun.
shareI liked both but I'll have to go with Bewitched.
shareI never dreamed of Samantha
