If you found money, would you keep it?

I went to the yogurt shop today to get some frozen yogurt and I sat at one of the tables for a little while and directly below me was $12 (a ten and two ones). I put it in my purse and keep thinking to myself, what I am going to do????? My conscious was eating at me and I sat there for a while. I then asked for a manager and told her that I found the $12 and gave it to her. She said she would put the money in an envelope for safe keeping and to see if anyone would claim it. I then left the yogurt shop after I finished my yogurt. The bad side of me wanted to keep the money but deep down inside, I didn't feel right about it and that's why I turned it in. I would love to know what you would have done in that situation or if you have been in a similar situation. Thoughts?

Small amount of money? Sure. Consider it a lucky find. Anything substantial though, I would bring it to the Police Department. Found a wallet with a couple hundred in it years back and I turned it in. Guy called me and was incredibly grateful.

Depends where I found it. I once found $50 on the floor in a video arcade and there were asian kids around and I tried to ask them and they didn't speak english. I just kept it. I figured the guy who works there would have pocketed it so better in my pocket than his.

Recently I found $40 as I cleared the grounds of a concert. It was rained out, garbage and what not everywhere and I said to the fellow guard 'wonder if I'll find anything of value' and there was 2 twenty dollar bills. I gave him one because I felt greedy keeping both.

No. I'm not a good person, I just have a very annoying conscience that would incessantly imagine the worst results of not turning it in.
